Abstract

Heterosis breeding represents a crucial strategy in plant breeding aimed at creating enhanced hybrids through the combination of genetically different parental lines. The F1 hybrids produced frequently display hybrid vigor, demonstrating advancements in yield, growth rates, and stress resistance relative to their parent strains. In the case of rabi crops, the application of heterosis breeding is vital in boosting both productivity and resilience. This technique is extensively employed to create crop varieties that offer high yields and robustness to satisfy the growing needs in agriculture.
